Joe Boozell — Bio And Media Credits
Joe Boozell is the Lead Illinois Writer for PlayIllinois.
A graduate of Butler University, Boozell has been a sportswriter since 2015, specializing in college basketball until 2019 before shifting his focus to sports betting and the casino industry.
Prior to joining PlayIllinois, Boozell worked for Turner Sports from 2015-20. There, he served as the lead college basketball writer at NCAA.com, while also writing and editing occasionally for NBA.com and PGA.com.
Boozell is a Chicagoland-area native and has lived there his whole life aside from a few years apiece in Indianapolis and Atlanta.
He worked for FOX Sports before joining Turner Sports.
In 2019, he signed on as a writer and social media producer at USA Sports Gaming, the parent company of BetIndiana and BetChicago.
