William Hill App Debuts In Illinois In Time For Cubs-Indians Betting

The apps available to sports bettors in Illinois just keep growing. This week, William Hill launched its online betting app in the state. The product is licensed in tandem with Grand Victoria Casino Elgin.

“We’re excited to bring our top-performing mobile app to my hometown state of Illinois,” said Ken Fuchs, president of digital for William Hill in a press release. “We look forward to providing millions of sports fans in the state with the best markets and great service.”

Recall that Grand Victoria Casino opened the state’s second sportsbook, powered by William Hill, on Aug. 3.

William Hill can sign up customers remotely through Friday

William Hill Sportsbook is the fifth online sportsbook to launch in the state. Per the current executive order from Gov. JB Pritzker, those apps have until Friday to register customers entirely online with no visit to the casino sportsbook to complete the process.

It is entirely possible that Pritzker extends the executive order and Illinois sports fans can continue to register remotely. So far, there has been no word one way or another. However, COVID-19 levels are at some of the highest levels the state has seen.

Since the news broke Aug. 21 that in-person registration was suspended, many apps mobilized quickly to launch in this window.

App available for iPhone and Android

The William Hill Illinois betting app is available for both iPhone and Android. Unlike some competitors, that use one app across many states, users in Illinois will need to download a state-specific app in order to bet in the Land of Lincoln.

For Android, the William Hill site will offer a list of options as to which state app to download. In the Apple App Store, simply search for William Hill Illinois and download the corresponding iOS app.

William Hill arrives in time to capitalize on NFL

Staffers at William Hill are probably kicking themselves they couldn’t get things launched in time to capitalize on the Chicago Bears‘ thrilling fourth-quarter comeback on Sunday, but they do arrive in time for the vast majority of the NFL season.

At competing books, the Bears vs. Lions game was one of the most-bet games of the week, so there appears to be a big market of Bears bettors ready to wager on the coming weeks this season.
