DraftKings is making a big Illinois push during the mobile registration period, and its latest promotional offer is certainly alluring.

Bet $10 on Texans-Chiefs, get $101 bonus bet

  • The applicable game is the Houston Texans vs. Kansas City Chiefs game on Thursday, Sept. 10.
  • The minimum bet that must be placed to take advantage of the offer is $10.
  • The offer expires on Monday, Aug. 31, at 10 p.m. EST.
  • This offer excludes live bets, parlays, bonus bets, cash out bets, voided bets and odds boosts.
  • One qualifying bet per user.
  • All users will receive the bonus bet on or by Sept. 1.
  • Offer is for new DraftKings users in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa and West Virginia.

DraftKings released the promotion on Aug. 27, at 5 p.m. EST, giving bettors exactly 101 hours to pounce on the offer. This is also the 101st NFL season.

Chiefs heavy favorites over Texans

A sneaky good part of the deal: DraftKings Sportsbook currently lists the Chiefs as 10-point favorites over the Texans. And users can bet on the moneyline either way.

Kansas City is -500 on the moneyline. The promotion would be worth grabbing regardless, but the moneyline component makes it extra attractive.

In fact, Chiefs vs. Texans is the most lopsided Week 1 point spread DraftKings is dealing at the moment.

The Ravens, hosting the Browns, are 7.5-point favorites. After KC, Baltimore is the biggest favorite.

It’s easy to see why the Chiefs could roll in Week 1. The Super Bowl champions return most of their key pieces, including that Mahomes guy, and are playing at Arrowhead Stadium.

The Texans, meanwhile, traded star wideout DeAndre Hopkins to the Cardinals in the offseason in a move much maligned by NFL Twitter.

Kansas City also beat Houston 51-31 in last season’s AFC Championship Game, erasing an early 24-point deficit in the process.

And while the Arrowhead crowd won’t be as rowdy as what we’re accustomed to seeing, the Chiefs are one of a few teams who plan to allow fans at their season opener.

Kansas City plans to limit stadium capacity to 22%, which comes out to about 17,000 fans.

Another hefty promotional offer from DraftKings

Illinois mobile registration could expire on Sept. 19, and DraftKings is doing everything it can to register new users during this period.

The Chiefs-Texans promotion is offered outside of the Land of Lincoln. But earlier this week, DraftKings unveiled an extremely generous offer exclusive to Illinois.

On Aug. 24, it gave new and existing users the chance to bet on the Lakers at +81 with -110 odds against the Trail Blazers. The promotion was a nod to the late Kobe Bryant, who famously scored 81 points in a game.

The maximum bet was $50, meaning users essentially won $45 for free.

Sportsbook competition breeds great promotional offers. With FanDuel and PointsBet likely entering the market next, it’s a great time to be an Illinois sports bettor.
