Odds for WNBA Finals Game 2 at IL sportsbooks

Most Illinois sportsbooks are sticking with their WNBA spreads from Game 1 of the series, which Chicago won 91-77. However, they’ve bumped the total up slightly. In most cases, the over line hit on Sunday by the slimmest of margins.

That WNBA lines sit exactly where the average of the totals from the three regular-season meetings of these teams lie. For most of the games these two teams played during the postseason, the over bet has hit.

The Sky victory gave them a home-court advantage in the series. For that reason, the lines on the entire series at IL sportsbooks have drastically changed. PointsBet Sportsbook now has Chicago a -250 favorite in its market.

The Sky have failed to cover just once so far in the postseason, with that one instance coming in Game 2 of the semifinal series against the Connecticut Sun in Uncasville. Can Phoenix force a similar result tonight?

Cunningham likely to play, more rest for Mercury

The Mercury should have the services of guard Sophie Cunningham for Game 2. Without her and fellow backcourt player Kia Nurse on Sunday, the lack of depth for Phoenix showed.

Nurse will not play tonight either. However, the Mercury will be operating with two days of rest in Game 2. In Game 1, Phoenix was on the court again less than 36 hours after playing Game 5 of its semifinal series against the Las Vegas Aces.

The Mercury also know they’re already up against a wall. No WNBA team has ever come back from an 0-2 deficit in a WNBA Finals series. The prospect of having to beat Chicago three consecutive times, with two of those games happening at Wintrust Arena, is quite daunting.

Speaking of daunting odds, that’s precisely what some specials for Wednesday’s game feature. If the players in the game cooperate, however, they could produce some nice payouts.

BetRivers, Caesars at William Hill offer odds boosts

BetRivers Sportsbook has a pair of house specials for Wednesday night’s contest at the Footprint Center. For starters, the sportsbook is offering +230 odds on the Sky to win the first half and go over 82.5 points.

You can get shorter odds of +110 on Phoenix to win, plus Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi to combine for over 35.5 points. Caesars at William Hill has a special +650 boost for bettors willing to stake money on two Chicago teams in action tonight winning, those being the Blackhawks and the Sky.

Chicago is just two wins away from its first WNBA Championship. If the sportsbooks are right tonight, they’ll have to play at least four games to get there.
