We’re in the thick of basketball season, and new DraftKings users can win $100 with a $1 bet leading up to March Madness.

New customers must deposit at least $5 into their account. From there, you can bet on any NBA or college basketball game — moneyline or spread — to win.

The promotion is available between now and Feb. 28. You must click on this link to receive the DraftKings offer. Here are the full details.

DraftKings bet $1 to win $100 bonus offer

You might be thinking you need to strategize on which team to select to win the bonus.

But it doesn’t matter whether your team wins or loses. All that matters is whether your team hits a 3-pointer at any time during the game.

Yes — if your team makes a 3-pointer, you win. Simple as that.

If you win, the bonus will be paid out in four free $25 bets. The bonus bets are valid for seven days, and failure to use them will void the award.

Want to bet on the Bulls?

While the Chicago Bulls may not be great, they are entertaining. And they have one of the best 3-point shooters in the league.

Zach LaVine is shooting 44% from a distance this season, and the Bulls have back-to-back upcoming games on Friday and Saturday vs. the 76ers and Kings.

LaVine also averages 3.6 3-point makes per game, and the Bulls average 13.5 as a team.

Chicago is currently the No. 9 seed in the Eastern Conference, and it is just a half-game back of the No. 6 seed.

This year, the 7-10 seeds earn a spot in the play-in round. At the very least, it looks like the Bulls should reach that stage.

Of course, it is highly unlikely that any team makes zero 3-pointers in an NBA game.

But in case you were curious, the Jazz leads the league at 16.6 per game.

The Cavaliers, meanwhile, bring up the rear at nine per game.

Unfortunately, you can’t bet on Illinois

You can use this DraftKings bonus on college games, too, and there are plenty on the schedule between now and Feb. 28.

However, you can’t bet on the Illinois Fighting Illini, who are currently ranked fifth in the AP Poll.

That’s because of an Illinois law that bans wagering on in-state college teams. With that said, there is legislation that would remove the ban if passed, but that likely won’t happen until college football season at the earliest.

That means you also can’t use this bet on Loyola Chicago, Northwestern, DePaul, Southern Illinois, etc.

For those inclined to use this promotion on a college game, Oral Roberts, Alabama, Toledo, Baylor and San Francisco lead the country in 3-point makes per game.

On the flip side, New Mexico ranks dead last at 4.3 3-point makes per game. So while it would be difficult to lose this promotion, betting on the Lobos presents some risk.
