TNF Week 5: PointsBet Offers Another No-Brainer Bears Promo Vs. Buccaneers

Written By Joe Boozell on October 8, 2020 - Last Updated on March 3, 2021

PointsBet, the official betting partner of the Chicago Bears, has promised to offer the best Bears promotions across Illinois all season.

It’s living up to that claim in NFL Week 5. PointsBet is dishing Bears +86 against the Buccaneers tonight (Oct. 8) for NFL Thursday Night Football.

This isn’t the first time PointsBet has offered a no-brainer Bears promotion, as it offered similar lines against the Lions and Giants in the first two weeks of the season.

The maximum bet is for $25 at +100 odds.

New and existing PointsBet Sportsbook users are eligible for the promotion.

The Buccaneers are 3.5-point favorites on the normal game spread at PointsBet. They opened at -5.5, but Tampa Bay is dealing with several injuries on offense coming into Soldier Field.

The game will kick off at 7:20 p.m. CST and will air on Fox and the NFL Network.

More NFL betting deals in Illinois

While the PointsBet promotion is as obvious as it gets for NFL betting, other Illinois online sportsbooks are offering some nice juice this week.

At BetRivers, if you bet $50 or more on the Bears vs. Buccaneers’ pregame spread, you will win $6 in site credit for every touchdown your team scores.

So, if you take the Bears +3.5 and they score two touchdowns, you will win $12 in bonus bets in addition to the result of your original bet.

BetRivers also offers a one-time 50% profit boost for any Sunday NFL game each week. The maximum wager is $50, and the maximum additional earnings is $250.

Meanwhile, DraftKings is offering a “TNF Primetime Prop” for Bears vs. Buccaneers.

Place a pregame bet on the first touchdown scorer, and if your player scores a TD at any point, you will get your money back up to $20 in site credit.

So let’s say you choose Buccaneers running back Ronald Jones, who is the favorite to score the first touchdown at +475.

If Allen Robinson scores the first touchdown and Jones doesn’t score until, say, the third quarter, your bet will be refunded up to $20 in site credit.

Jones is -162 to score a touchdown on the evening. Bears running back David Montgomery is next at +650 and +100, respectively.

Finally, FanDuel is also offering an odds boost for Thursday’s game.

You can get +500 juice on a Chicago Bears moneyline win and at least 44 total points scored.

That would normally be listed at +450.

Buccaneers @ Bears odds

Here are the odds for the Tom Brady vs. Nick Foles rematch at all five Illinois online sportsbooks, not including the PointsBet promotion.

BetRiversDraftKingsFanDuelPointsBetWilliam Hill
TB Buccaneers -3.5, 44.5-3.5, 44.5-3.5, 44-3.5, 44.5-3.5, 44.5
CHI Bears+3.5, 44.5+3.5, 44+3.5, 44+3.5, 44.5+3.5, 44.5

It’s a matchup of 3-1 teams heading in opposite directions, but the line continues to move in Chicago’s favor.
